Invention of the Photograph
Nicéphore Niépce (1765-1833) was a French inventor and took the earliest surviving photograph in either 1826 or 1827, known as “View from the Window at Le Gras”. He used a camera (like one used in Phantasmagoria) and a metal alloy plate to successfully take the image.
The first image is the original photograph. The second is a later enhanced version.
